My Background As A Former Prosecutor
I graduated from North Carolina State University with a bachelor’s degree in both business management and sports management. Following this, I attended law school at Washburn University where I graduated with dean’s honors. After graduation, I worked for the Kansas Attorney General’s office in the criminal litigation division before joining the Johnson County District Attorney’s office. I worked at the DA’s office for over seven years serving in the traffic, domestic violence and drug sections.
My skills were acknowledged when District Attorney Steve Howe selected me to serve as the interim drug section chief. Additionally, I served as a special prosecutor for the Wyandotte County District Attorney’s office. During my last four years as an assistant district attorney, I taught criminal law to law enforcement officers at the Johnson County Police Academy.
Since leaving the Johnson County DA’s Office, the District Attorney has valued my skills as a litigator by asking me to serve as a Special Prosecutor for the office.
